Psalm 46:10 Be Still and Know that I am God...

Do you ever get out of sorts sometimes with the daily pulls of life? One of my favorite parts of my day is spending alone time with God. Some days I sleep in and miss out. I find when I choose not to spend any time with God that the excuses start to roll off my tongue a lot easier every day.
Too tired, too busy, not enough time...

When my priorities are out of line and God is not number 1 in my life it is so much easier for the enemy to go at me. I become vulnerable and can talk myself into anything. When I am out of sorts, it is so crucial for me to regroup and make Jesus the center of my life again because without Him as my focus my attention is easily swayed.
This picture isn't the best quality because I took it on my cell phone, but I love how content Amiyah looks sitting on the lap of her Grandpa; his strong arms engulfing her tiny frame.

Sometimes we just need to crawl up into the lap of our Savior and just sit and allow ourselves to be surrounded by the strength of His arms. There is nothing that compares to leaning up against the chest of our Savior and just listening to His Majesty breathe life over us.

Today may I encourage you to take the time to crawl up into Jesus' lap and simply rest in His Presence.

~Many Blessings~

How so very sweet!?!?!? Sitting in our Master's lap is so refreshing and life giving. It's a shame that we don't do it more often, huh? Thanks for the encouragement!

And by the way, seeing Gene makes me wonder...how has he been doing since surgery?

Prayers and Blessings!

Great post. I love the verse Psalm 46:10. I love the song too. I'm sure of the exact title but it was sang at church. It is very slow..."be still and know that I am Go..." I can't remember anything else but I can sure hear it in my head...beautiful.

Blessings,
Paula

Wow, Lelia,
Just what i needed to hear, especially now as i am trying to get ready to host our small group. just needing to take the time out to rest in teh lap of my God, my Daddy, my Jesus.
Please pray that I will take advantage of the opportunity I have today, even right now, to rest in His presence... accept the help of those around me, and just "be" with Him.
thank you for your encouraging words...
Love you,
heather

Sweet post, Lelia!
There's just something about a man holding a baby that touches the heart.
And that baby! Oh, it makes me miss the days when my "babies" sat in my lap sucking a pacifier...so yummy!:)

Thank you for your kind and encouraging comment today. I told my friend Melissa, you just can't make this stuff up....God does things in a BIG way....The stuff I could dream up for my life would simply pale in comparison to what God dreams up.

It's almost like when I dream of something, God says, "Oh yeah, well I'll show you something even better than that!" :)

Thanks again for your sweet words to me.
God Bless,
Amy:)

Friend-I am with you on this one. Every morning I crawl out of bed, brush my teeth, gab some coffee and head for my red paisley chair. It is my most cherished time of the day and if I miss-my day just isn't what it should be, I'm not what I should be...I love the picture of crawling up into His lap. Beautiful!!

This is a precious picture.

I love crawling up in my "Papa's" lap and feeling the beat of His heart. I love how your sweet little one is not doing anything, just sitting in her Papa's embrace.
That's it....resting in Him.

Loved this,
Hugs,
Julie

Enough already about that precious baby:-) Anybody notice that she has the hottest Grandma ever?! Lelia, you grow younger and more radiant with each and every word of praise you lift to our Savior. My cup runneth over with the gift of your friendship. Lisa DJ (aka, one who sorely needs a brisk walk around Holmes Lake:-)

Hi Lelia,
I love this reminder, and the picture is a perfect one! I will keep that as a mental image for when I need to be held by God.....

I have enjoyed our chats so much and I am looking forward to next month. We definitely need to stay connected before and after the conference. I am thanking God for sending me such a sweet and encouraging friend who lives so close to me.

Have the best Mother's Day ever and I hope to hear from you soon...

Amen and amen!
I need to quit running around like a chicken with it's head cut off and crawl up in my Daddy's lap! He must get exhausted just watching me with all of my nonsense! :) I know I get exhausted just thinking about it! Thanks for the reminder!

Blessings! And I love the new picture of you on your page! :)
Love ya',
K

This is one of the pictures I have in my mind of me and my Savior!!

I never had the "daddy's little girl" relationship with my father. So I have always had the picture of my heavenly father with his arms wrapped around me telling me that I am his FOREVER!!

Wonderful picture of your hubby and Amiyah--very touching!

Have a wonderful Mother's Day Lelia!

Oh Lelia! It is the same title. How did I miss that? I read your blog and admired how handsome Gene is and how beautiful Amiyah is. I thought about what a beautiful post it was and the next day, when I posted mine, I didn't realized that your blog probably spoke to my heart and helped me see what God was showing me. How cool is that! Thanks for the comment. Love you! Liz
