Flame

What I will not be getting Gene for Christmas:

Burger King is hoping to be known as more than “The Home of the Whopper.”
This weekend, the fast food chain rolled out “Flame,” a new men’s body spray billed as “the scent of seduction with a hint of flame-broiled meat
.”

~Boston Herald~

Ummm...I don't know about you, but I can't tell you the last time I was seduced by the smell of a hamburger!

What are the BK big wigs thinking??? Even if it is selling for only $3.99!

Here's a review of it from Amanda in Virginia:

I received Flame in the mail two days ago....yesterday I wore it to work for the first time. As a tattoo artist, our tip amounts vary greatly..... but yesterday not one tip was less than $50!!!!! I know it had everything to do with wearing flame....... THANK YOU! :)

Oh sweet Amanda...they were just trying to raise enough money so that you buy a different smell!

How did this come about anyway?

Did some guy go home after working an 8 hour shift at BK, go to bed without showering and his wife called him at work the next day to tell him: "When you get home tonight, don't take a shower because I loved that you smelled like a Whopper!" Did that guy then run into his boss' office and present his idea of a Whopper cologne and now we have FLAME?

I don't know, but I'm guessing by the look on this woman's face who was asked to smell it while dining in a Burger King that this won't be making any top seller's list anytime soon...

My guy loves eating Whoppers, but I can't begin to imagine kissing his neck and him smelling like flame-broiled meat!
I know he'd love it, but Gene honey...don't even ask.
Now, we all have different ideas of what is sexy, so just in case you think your man would smell good smelling like a juicy flame broiled burger, then click here to buy him a bottle of it.
To each his own.
Linda from 2nd Cup of Coffee...I think Jorge would smell mighty good in this! Your dog Zoe will really love him then...probably lick his neck raw!

Now if reading this has made you hungry for a Whopper or Big Mac or whatever else you can order from your car then check this out.

My friend Rachel works with the ministry of Mission Nebraska who stewards several Christian radio stations in Nebraska and can also be heard on the web. I love My Bridge Radio because they play a lot of new worship songs I haven't heard yet. Here's what she shared...

Participate in The Christmas Gift that keeps on Giving!

All you have to do is:

1.) Print a flyer by clicking here .

The flyer will have the radio station's frequency and website address so they can tune in if they live in Nebraska or listen on their computer if you live in another state.

Also on the website it has "The rest of the story"...

We are giving because we have already received....the Gift of Jesus!!!

2.) Go through a drive-thru and pay for the person's order behind you.

3.) As you hand the money to the cashier, also give them the flyer you printed off to give to the driver behind you when the cashier tells them that their debt has already been paid.

I did it this morning...lots of fun to be a blessing - and who knows how God may choose to use this simple little act!!~Rachel.

I've done this before too throughout the year and it is so much fun and like Rachel said...you never know what God is up to! Be used by Him this Christmas season.

Love ya!

~Many Blessings~

I will re-post the poem that was up here before Christmas. Was just too lengthy of a post and wanted to share the above with you instead.

Wow, can you imagine the stink there!!! :) No way for me or my man!!! He started laughing outloud when i read your review to him! :)

I don't know how much time you have to read, but to keep myself focused this year, especially on Joy this season and what is really important, I have been doing a daily series called Advent of Joy... one a day from the 1st through the 25th... my version of an advent calendar! :)

Thanks for the poem and the reminder! Nothing like remembering what we are giving and celebrating, the real point of everything! :)

Love you lots my friend! I hope that things are going well for you!

Gaross! That's just nasty, isn't is, Lelia? I loved loved lovd your poem! Praying I can stay focused on God as Christmas looms closer. I've done well so far but the closer it gets the more I experience OCD in making everything perfect. This poem helps!

Lelia,
My heart so agrees with your about me line about your past that "only God can handle all the details". We serve an awesome God!

What a hoot on the BK spray. I love a whopper, but please!!!

And I your poem from last Christmas. The Lord gives me poems sometimes too. So nice to meet you,
Lora

Lelia,

LOL!
Hey...I have a better idea for incorporating Burger King....or any place with a drive-thru window... into your Christmas giving! :)

Today we are encouraging My Bridge Radio listeners across Nebraska to participate in The Christmas Gift that keeps on Giving! All you have to do is go through a drive thru and pay for the person's order behind you. As you hand the money to the cashier, you also give the cashier a flyer (printed from our website at www.mybridgeradio.net) to give to the person when they tell them that their debt has already been paid! The flyer will have the radio station's frequency so they can tune in if they want as well as the website information....which will have the rest of the story - tying in the fact that we are giving because we have already received....the Gift of Jesus!!!

I did it this morning...lots of fun to be a blessing - and who knows how God may choose to use this simple little act!!

Oh, Lelia, you are a genius! My Christmas dilemma is no more! Ha. Here's what I think, and please forgive me, but, I think it's a word play on "Whopper." If you get my drift. I sorta hope you don't.

I heard about this on K-love and just cannot imagine! This is a very strange world we live in.

I am missing our Bible study, Lelia! It's been a crazy week, and I need something to make me slow down! I better get that book!!!

Sending Christmas love,

Laura

That is the craziest thing I have ever heard of!! What were they thinking???

There's something wrong with this world win a fast food joint begins selling ANY kind of cologne let alone flame broiled. Yuk! I only like the smell of hamburgers when it's combined with the scent of the fresh outdoors...aka...hamburgers on the grill not on the skin.

I've listed to My Bridge Radio before. I noticed the web link months ago at the bottom of your blog. I printed out the handwritten note. Is this terrible but I've been leary to do it afraid that the employee would keep the money instead of paying for the next persons. Or if say I gave a $5 and the person only ordered a drink and then the person pocket the rest. I know, I know...if they pocket it, then they must need it more than me.

Where have I been. I clicked on my blog and everyone on my blog list has a new posting. I'm so far behind.

I'm trying to multi task. As I wait for the blogs to pull up...not long but too long to sit and wait...maybe 10 seconds...I've been peeling carrots for a veggie tray. Awful, huh? It's really not so time-effecient.
Love you, Lelia.

I cannot begin to imagine the 'aroma' those little cans hold when sprayed on... and I'm confused... who wears it???;) You are a scream!

The Christmas sentiment of giving to a stranger is the true essence of Jesus. We do it going through toll booths, but we don't only practice it at Christmas-time.

Pop on over to my blog for a minute, and be in the running for something special... Bless your heart! Naomi x

Oh Leila,

This was sooooooooooo funny! I heard about that "Flame" and thought the exact same thing.

Now, I do love my BK's though!!

Thanks for sharing about giving and that radio station, I'll check it out later today!

Sending lots of love your way♥

NasTY! like Major ick!
No thanks. I thought this was a joke at first. To be honest, just the smell alone of meat cooking makes me nauseated. :( MAYBE if they made a scent like CHOCOLATE... we'd buy it huh? LOL

LOVE the "simple little acts" you wrote about. I love doin those kind of things. LOVE it! Especially to PRAY FIRST AND SAY, "Okay God, show me whom TO BLESS!"

Have a great day "Lee luh"!!!
Holykisses,
I'm counting down the days for our new study! Don't get too used to your vacation away from blogging bible studies okay?!!!

My husband was telling me that he heard about this on the radio. He didn't know if it was a joke or not....I guess not. Yuck is all I have to say.

I'm with you--YUCK!

I've given you an "award". Check it out on my blog.

I have to tell you that this new scent appeared on our morning program (similar to the Today show, only we call it Sunrise) in their "only in America" segment!

It just cracked me up...as you do everytime I come to visit. You are such a tonic!

Flame was not my list. My throat tightened as I read this post, so that's a gonner. But, I love the marketing idea. Great idea. What a way to pass on the good news.
