If you are visiting from She Seeks, welcome!
If you are visiting here and would like to read my devotion running on She Seeks click here.
She Seeks is headed up by the beautiful Lisa Whittle and is a division of
Proverbs 31 Ministries which was founded by the beautiful Lysa TerKeurst.
They are both incredible websites focused on women.
If you have never visited either of these websites,
I strongly encourage you to do so.
Neither website will be a waste of your time.
Last Tuesday, for YES to GOD Tuesdays, we were to discuss chapter 4 in our book
Becoming More by Lysa TerKeurst.
Obviously that didn't happen and I am so sorry for that. I should've at least had the manners to pop in and explain my absence.
Monday, October 26th my husband Gene had his surgery.
What was supposed to be a 2-3 hour surgery ended up being over 5 hours long.
He is doing very well and it was a blessing to have his brother join us from Orlando for a week to help out and wait the long 6 hours with me in the waiting room.
When we returned home on Thursday for the first time in over a year, Gene walked up the steps into our home with no pain in his right leg!
Hallelujah!
I will share more on the whole thing with Gene later this week because it is sooooo cool how God works, but I have something on my heart right now to share.
Tomorrow, Tuesday come back by and we will discuss chapters 4 & 5 of
Becoming More!
Thanks for your understanding and your prayers.
On my devotion running on She Seeks, it is all about having boundaries.
This summer I really realized how important boundaries are in one's life.
Whether it is in eating, exercise, friendships, computer time...whatever we have going on in our life, boundaries are important to implement and maintain.
Without boundaries in place I really believe we are giving our enemy the green light to come into our life and take what he can from us.
In God's Word Satan is compared to a lion roaming the earth looking to devour us.
Not play around with us and lick us like they do in the circus.
Satan, our enemy, the Prince of Darkness is looking to kill, steal and destroy.
The Bible does not say,
"Hey watch out for your enemy. He wants to mess with your mind a little bit, slap you around and cause you some problems. Don't worry though, you can handle it."
Instead, we are encouraged to be alert, put on the full armour of God and
be aware of Satan's ways.
It is the times when we think, I got this that the enemy says, "Good, that means I've got you" and then his plans begin to unravel.
And I am a living witness that when the enemy finds a way into the areas in our life we left unguarded, we find ourselves sitting in a seat in our lives that we always labeled the
"I would never do that" seat.
Right where the father of lies wants us.
Boundaries are important ladies.
We need them.
God encourages them.
As hard as it is, examine your heart and see where you need put up a holy barbwire fence to keep out your enemy.
It won't restrict you, but instead allows you to live the life of freedom that God intends for you to live.
You never know what God may ask you to change.
Could be unhealthy relationships, eating habits or something that you think is in control. Whatever it is, just trust Him for He knows what is best for your life.
Boundaries are also a preventive measure that can save us from a lot of heartache and regret.
Living in freedom is amazing and it is right where the Father of Love wants you to be.
Have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow to discuss the book
Becoming More Than A Good Bible Study Girl.
If you want to join in...please get the book and join in at your own pace. It is an amazing study and we are only approaching chapters 4 & 5 tomorrow!

Glad the surgery went well and will be praying for his recovery/healing to continue!
Hey Sweets. So glad to see your blog pop on my bloglist as updated. I didn't know you were writing for She Seeks. How wonderful!!
I like what you said about how when we say "I got this!" it's satan's time to say "I got you!" That is so true....we can't attempt this life alone and on our own. We can get in so much trouble.
And don't apologize...I wouldn't be worryig with blogging if my hubs had major surgery.
Love ya,
Hey Girl! I am so glad to hear that Gene is on a great road to recovery. God is so good.
Thank you for this post today. I really needed to hear it!
Hey girl! Glad to know that Gene is doing so well! Our God is so very good! :) :)
Prayers and blessings,

Great post and prayers that your husband is healing quickly!
Great devo on She Seeks! I've been thinking a lot about boundaries, too, and how that's what a lot of life is all about. Thanks for sharing! melanie
Great post here, Lelia, AND over at She Seeks!
Thank God for Gene's recovery!
And I STILL don't have my Becoming More book. Guess I have to actually ORDER it. go figure.

So glad to hear that surgery went well, even if it was a little longer than expected.
Boundaries are good. Boundaries are necessary.
I was read another person speaking of sin and the devil and how often the sin becomes so glamorized that the temptation is even greater, to the point where we ignore the sin part and think it looks fun/pleasurable/whatever. The devil is evil, coniving and manipulative. we have to be on guard and keep our heads on straight and let God lead us.
Thanks, as always, for posting something that spoke to my heart when I needed it the most.
So glad the surgery went well! Praise God!!
I know far too well about appropriate boundaries. Unfortunately, I have learned them the hard way. I am much better now, but just when I think I've got it, that is when the enemy gets in.
Thank you for this post! It is a great reminder to "Put on the full armor of God"
Hugs-
Jennifer
Hallelujah, Lelia! I'm so thankful for the good results of the surgery! I will continue to pray for even more (above and beyond anything we can ask or imagine, you know) good fruit from this, sister!
Sending hugs,
laura
Hi Lelia! Visiting you tonight has been wonderful. I have read, and caught up on so much, and I've appreciated what you have shared in so many instances. You are a true blessing! I hope and pray that you and your family are all soing well, and I was so pleased to learn of Gene's achievements and his healing with his back - how wonderful, and Praise the Lord!!! Blessings to you! Naomi xxx
Dear Lelia,
First of all, PRAISES for Gene's healing and continued prayers for his complete recovery.
Once again, your words have touched my heart in a more timely way that can only be a "God-thing". Your words regarding boundaries brought tears to my eyes. I am respectful of the boundaries of others but no so much in regards to myself.
Unfortunately, I allowed Satan into parts of my mind, heart, and soul that had no business being open to such and it most recently, almost cost me my very life.
You are a wonderful encouragement to so many and it so evident that God is working through you. I pray that you will continue to seek Him above all and that you will be able to continue to share the Truths He exposes to you with others. You, through Him, have made a remarkable difference in this girl's life.
So Appreciate You, Your Openess, and Your Love for the Father,
Stacy
It's been awhile since I've read one of your posts. I always find them to be inspirational, thought-provoking and heartfelt. Thank you for letting others into your life through your writing.
Blessings -
Beth
I always enjoy your insights. It seems they are just what I need to hear at the time.
oh Lelia, I've learned so much about boundaries over the last five years. Mostly the hard way. Lessons I won't ever forget and hope to pass on and save others from some major heartbreak. I'm gonna pop over and read your devo.
Praising God for Gene's good report!!!!!!!!!!
